Yamazaki Yuhane

Yamazaki Yuhane (山﨑夢羽) is a Japanese pop singer and actress. She is a former idol under Hello! Project as a member of the sub-group Ame no Mori Kawa Umi and the combined group BEYOOOOONDS. She first joined Hello! Project as a member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei in August 2016.

She graduated from BEYOOOOONDS and Hello! Project on June 27, 2024 at the final concert of the group's spring live tour and left UP-FRONT PROMOTION afterwards.[2]

Early Life[]

Yamazaki Yuhane was born on November 5, 2002 in Aichi, Japan.

In 2011, Yamazaki auditioned for Ciao Girl.

She took dance and vocal lessons at studioFX before joining Hello Pro Kenshuusei.[3]

2016[]

On January 2, Yamazaki participated in the Kids Vocal Stage held by J-ACADEMY alongside a friend as a duo named A-mero.[4] It took place at the Dome Asobo World convention in Nagoya.[5][6]

On March 20, A-mero performed in the J-ACADEMY IDOL&VOCAL LIVE event.[7][8]

In early 2016, she participated in the Morning Musume '16 Shinseiki Audition, but failed.[9]

On August 17, it was announced on the Hello! Project website that Yamazaki had joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei, alongside Kawamura Ayano, Yokoyama Reina, Yoshida Marie, Nishida Shiori, Hashisako Rin.[10] She was introduced at Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2016 9gatsu ~SINGING!~ on September 4.

2017[]

On March 10, it was announced that Yamazaki and Yonemura Kirara would appear in a commercial for PIZZA-LA's new spring menu item "Yokubari Quarter" also starring Matsuko Deluxe.[11][12]

From April 1 to June 4, Yamazaki is participating as the opening act and a back dancer in the ℃-ute Concert Tour 2017 Haru ~℃elebration~.

On May 5, Yamazaki won a judge's singing award for her performance of "Magic of Love" at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2017 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~.

On July 12, it was announced that Yamazaki would star in another commercial campaign for PIZZA-LA's "Yokubari Quarter" menu item with Matsuko Deluxe, this time alongside Kamikokuryo Moe and Funaki Musubu.[13][14] It began being broadcast on July 15.

On November 1, a winter PIZZA-LA commercial for "Yokubari Quarter" was announced and would once again star Kamikokuryo, Funaki, and Yamazaki. This time they appear alongside comedian Degawa Tetsuro.[15]

2018[]

On February 13, she participated in a fanclub event titled Hello Pro Kenshuusei Special Event in Nagoya ~Hajimemashite! 2~ at Midland Square Cinema 2 alongside Maeda Kokoro, Nishida Shiori, and Shimakura Rika, where she performed a cover of "Bishoujo Shinri" from ℃-ute's second single.

On March 7, it was announced that Yamazaki, Kamikokuryo Moe and Funaki Musubu would star in a commercial campaign with Degawa Tetsuro to promote PIZZA-LA's new spring menu item "Gourmet Quarter".[16]

On March 20, she participated in a fanclub event titled Engeki Joshibu "Bokutachi Karen na Shounen Gasshoudan" DVD Hatsubai Kinen Special Event in Nagoya at Midland Square Cinema 2 alongside Maeda Kokoro, Noguchi Kurumi, Yonemura Kirara, Nishida Shiori, and Shimakura Rika.

On June 5, she participated in a fanclub event titled Hello Pro Kenshuusei Event ~Hello! Nagoya 4kaime~ at Midland Square Cinema 2 alongside Kodama Sakiko, Yonemura Kirara and Hashisako Rin.

On June 9, during the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2018 6gatsu ~Niji~ in Tokyo, it was announced that Yamazaki was selected alongside Maeda Kokoro and Okamura Minami to join the second new group which already includes Takase Kurumi and Kiyono Momohime and would debut later in 2018.[17]

On October 19, the name of her group was revealed as Ame no Mori Kawa Umi. It was also announced that it would be part of the combined group BEYOOOOONDS alongside the group led by Ichioka named CHICA#TETSU and the Hello! Project "ONLY YOU" Audition winners.[18][19]

2019[]

On April 8, it was announced that Yamazaki would star in Matsu, SKY PerfecTV!'s ninth Twitter morning drama series that would be posted every day from April 15 to April 20.[20]

On November 5, she celebrated her 17th birthday at a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / Ame no Mori Kawa Umi Yamazaki Yuhane Birthday Event 2019, featuring two shows at TOKYO FM HALL.

2020[]

On March 27, it was announced that she would have her own corner on the CBC TV show Maple Chou Ongaku, titled "Yuhaemon no Himitsu Dougu", starting on April 11.[21]

On June 25, she released her first photobook, Yuhane.[22]

On October 30, it was revealed that she would play the part of former Hello! Project soloist Matsuura Aya in the upcoming film Ano Koro, to be theatrically released in 2021.[23][24]

On November 6, she celebrated her 18th birthday at a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / Ame no Mori Kawa Umi Yamazaki Yuhane Birthday Event 2020, featuring two shows at THE GRAND HALL.[25] In compliance with government policy, cheering, crowding, standing, and closeness in the venue were prohibited, and wearing masks were required to enter.

2021[]

On February 10, the special compilation album Hello! Project no Zenkyoku kara Atsumechaimashita! Vol.7 commemorating the theatrical release of Ano Koro was released. Included in the album is a cover of Matsuura Aya's "Kiseki no Kaori Dance." recorded at Hello! Project presents... "Solo Fes!" by Yamazaki, who plays the role of Matsuura Aya in the film.[26] Ano Koro was released in theaters on February 19, 2021.

On May 31, it was revealed that Yamazaki would appear in the TV Tokyo summer drama series "Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de." in the role of Kanzaki Hina, center of a national idol group.[27][28]

On November 5, she celebrated her 19th birthday at a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / Ame no Mori Kawa Umi Yamazaki Yuhane Birthday Event 2021, featuring two shows at LANDMARK HALL.[29] In compliance with government policy, cheering, crowding, standing, and closeness in the venue were prohibited, and wearing masks were required to enter.

2022[]

On June 25, Yamazaki Yuhane released her second photobook, Uka -growing wings-.[30]

On July 29, it was announced that Maeda Kokoro had been diagnosed with COVID-19, while Yamazaki Yuhane had reported symptoms of sore throat and difficulty speaking. Maeda had tested positive for the virus that morning during regular routine antigen tests, while Yamazaki had tested negative despite her symptoms. They will both focus on treatment under the guidance of local governments and public health centers. As result, the July 30 concert of the Hello! Project 2022 Summer CITY CIRCUIT BEYOOOOOND1St CONCERT TOUR ~Mou Iccho Donto Koi! BE HAPPY!~ in Miyagi was cancelled.[31]

On August 8, it was announced that Tsubaki Factory and BEYOOOOONDS members Yamagishi Riko, Tanimoto Ami, Asakura Kiki, Akiyama Mao, Nishida Shiori, Eguchi Saya, Maeda Kokoro, Yamazaki Yuhane, and Satoyoshi Utano would be appearing in the NHK special drama Idol, which aired on August 11. The drama is about the aspiring idols who performed at the theater Moulin Rouge Shinjukuza during the World War II era.[32]

On November 25, she celebrated her 20th birthday at a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / Ame no Mori Kawa Umi Yamazaki Yuhane Birthday Event 2022 with two shows at Tower Hall Funabori. [33]

2023[]

On November 1, she celebrated her 21st birthday at a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / Ame no Mori Kawa Umi Yamazaki Yuhane Birthday Event 2023 with two shows at Shintoshi Hall. [34]

On December 7, she took part in Hello! Project 25 Shunnen Kinen Special FC Event Vol.3 alongside Oda Sakura, Haga Akane, Yokoyama Reina, Ise Layla, Kawana Rin, Niinuma Kisora, Saito Madoka and Tsutsui Roko at Yamano Hall. This event covered the 2011-2016 era of Hello! Project's history.

2024[]

On April 4, it was announced that Yamazaki would be graduating from BEYOOOOONDS and Hello! Project at the final concert of the group's spring live tour BEYOOOOONDS LIVE TOUR 2024 SPRING ~PERSOOOOONALITY~ on June 27 at Toyosu PIT.[2]

It's been about 8 years since I joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei.

I went from being a trainee to a member of BEYOOOOONDS, surrounded by the groupmates I loved, and experienced many things.

More than anything, the warm support coming from everyone could become my energy, and the presence of the others fueled my desire to improve.

As these activities went on, more and more I desired to study music and learn to sing in many different genres! I want to continue to challenge myself! I thought it was a lot to ask, but these feelings kept on growing.

The reason I've been able to grow so much as a person is because I could be a member of BEYOOOOONDS. It's thanks to the group that my confidence has increased and I have come up with a new dream.

To stand on my own, and to broaden my own potential, I want to take what I've learned until now and level up in a different environment, so I've decided to graduate.

To those who are always cheering us on, I'm so full of gratefulness that it's hard to put it into words. Supported by all of your warm voices, no matter where I go I've had allies. I've been able to do my best without crying and continue improving and it's because you've always been there.

And I've been doing all I can to put my everything into my performing so that I might bring smiles to your faces.

I'm going to move forward with the same motivation.

Together with music, facing my dreams and never forgetting that I want to constantly challenge myself, I want to improve more and more as I live my life.

If I can continue to make you smile while I walk my new path, it would make me happy.

BEYOOOOONDS will continue to be an exceptionally strong group that will entertain and surprise everyone.

On June 27, she officially graduated from BEYOOOOONDS and Hello! Project at the BEYOOOOONDS LIVE TOUR 2024 SPRING ~PERSOOOOONALITY "Wings of Dreams"~ in Toyosu PIT. A day later, on June 28, she released her graduation song "Ai wa Maru de Seidenki" digitally.[35]

On July 1, her contract with UP-FRONT PROMOTION was terminated. They reached this conclusion out of respect of her wish to spread her wings and fly towards a new dream. She will be starting her journey towards new goals, and will be continuing to sing.[36]

On October 17, it was revealed through a trailer that Yamazaki would be participating in the audition program SEVEN COLORS -girls life memory-.[37] On the October 24 episode, she made her first appearance in the program as the 10th participant.[38] In accordance to her participation, she also opened a new Instagram account on the same day.[39]

On December 4, it was announced that Yamazaki had withdrawn from the program due to tearing her meniscus. [40]

Personal Life[]

She is an only child.

When Yamazaki joined Ame no Mori Kawa Umi, she was a first year high school student.

Yamazaki gets along best with Maeda Kokoro and Shimakura Rika in BEYOOOOONDS.

Yamazaki's given name, Yuhane, means "dream" (夢; yu) and "feather" (羽; hane).

  • It takes Yuhane about 3 seconds to fall asleep once she gets in the futon.
  • Her surname "Yamazaki" (written as 山﨑) is actually a rare spelling of the name, as opposed to the more common spelling (written as 山崎). She shares this surname with Morning Musume member Yamazaki Mei.
