- Main article: Tanpopo
The discography of Tanpopo consists of one studio albums, two compilation album, and eight singles. Their best selling release is Koi wo Shichaimashita! with a total sale of x copies.
In October 1998, Tanpopo was formed as a subgroup consisting of selected Morning Musume members. Being signed to zetima, their seventh single peaked at #1 on the Oricon charts and is their highest-charting single to date. Their highest-selling album is All of Tanpopo, released in 2002. After the release of their fourth single, they changed their line-up and sound, going from three to four members and from slow and mature songs to an old-fashioned and upbeat style. They released three more singles and two compilation albums before the line-up was changed again. They released only one more single before going on hiatus in 2003.
All of of Tanpopo's songs are written by Tsunku.
In 2009, Tanpopo was revived as Tanpopo# with all new members, some of them from other groups than Morning Musume. This incarnation released tracks on the Hello! Project cover album Champloo 1 ~Happy Marriage Song Cover Shuu~ and Petit Best 10. The idea was probably to revive the sub-units, but the idea was scrapped.
