  • During her December 2019 "Shimakura Rika 1001 Nights" talk event, she revealed that she originally wasn't aiming to become an idol; her mother sent in her application to Morning Musume's 13th generation audition without asking her. She started learning about Hello! Project after she was accepted into the audition. After failing the final round, she felt it was something worth working hard for.
  • Her mother asked her if she would like to join Hello Pro Kenshuusei after that, to help to fix her half-hearted self attitude.[13]
  • She began learning to play guitar in 2019 as a hobby, but wants to become skilled enough to perform.
