Onoda Karin (小野田華凜) is a Japanese pop singer under Hello! Project as a member of Rosy Chronicle and a former member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei.[2] Before joining Hello Pro Kenshuusei, she was a 10th generation member of the stage show group Hanayashiki Shoujo Kageki simply under the name Karin (華凜).[3][4]

Early Life[]
Onoda Karin was born on January 23, 2008 in Tokyo, Japan.
2009-2015[]
Onoda has been a child model as early as 2009.[3]
2016-2017[]
In 2016, Onoda joined the theater troupe Hanayashiki Shoujo Kageki.
In 2017, Onoda participated in Hello! Project Shin Member Audition, but failed.
2018[]
Onoda participated in Hello! Project "ONLY YOU" Audition, but failed.[5]
In September, Onoda graduated from the theater troupe Hanayashiki Shoujo Kageki.[4]
On November 1, it was announced that Onoda had joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei alongside Saito Madoka and Kusunoki Mei. They were introduced in the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2018 12gatsu ~Mikan~ show on December 2.[2]
2019[]
On February 5, she participated in a fanclub event, titled Hello Pro Kenshuusei Special Event in Nagoya ~Hajimemashite! 6~, at Midland Square Cinema 2 alongside Kubota Nanami, Matsubara Yulia, and Saito Madoka.
From July 19 to July 29, Onoda performed in the stage play Daihi [story B Daihi 37m] by the theater troupe Innocent Sphere.[6]
2020[]
On July 26, Onoda won the judge's character award at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2020 ~Natsu no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ event for her performance of "Hitori de Ikiraresou" tte Sore tte Nee, Homete Iru no?".[7]
2021[]
On May 29, Onoda won the judge's singing award at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2021 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ event for her performance of "Do it! Now".
2022[]
On May 3, Onoda won the Best Performance Award by public vote aswell as the Dance Award for performing "Mugen Climax" and "Kimagure Princess" at Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2022 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ event.
On May 21, it was revealed that Matsubara Yulia, Onoda Karin, Hashida Honoka, and Murakoshi Ayana had appeared as background dancers in the Nantettatte I Love You music video.
On June 29, it was revealed that Onoda Karin joined the new line up of Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit '22 alongside Matsubara Yulia, Hashida Honoka, Murakoshi Ayana, and Uemura Hasumi.[8]
2023[]
On May 23, it was announced that Onoda would debut in a new group in 2024.[9]
On June 2, it was announced that Onoda had undergone a PCR test after feeling unwell, and had thusly tested positive for COVID-19. The June 3 Hello! Project Kenshuusei Recital was cancelled as a result of Onoda, as well as several other Kenshuusei, testing positive. [10]
2024[]
On June 16, it was announced at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2024 6gatsu "Lily" that the Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit's new group would be named Rosy Chronicle, and that the unit will start their activities as Rosy Chronicle at the Hello! Project 2024 Summer ALL OF US tour on July 13.[11] Two days later, on June 18, she and the other Rosy Chronicle members were promoted from Hello Pro Kenshuusei.
Personal Life[]
Onoda is the younger sister of Up Up Girls (Kakko Kari) member and former Engeki Joshibu member Onoda Ayasa, who was also a member of Hanayashiki Shoujo Kageki until March 2017. She also has an older brother.
When Onoda joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei, she was in her fifth year of elementary school. As of April 2020, she was in her first year of middle school. As of April 2023, she was in her first year of high school. When she debuted as a member of Rosy Chronicle, she was in her second year of high school. As of April 2025, she is in her third year of high school.
Onoda gets along best with Matsubara Yulia in Rosy Chronicle, as the two are close in age and often played together during their time in Hello Pro Kenshuusei.
