Early Life[]

Ogata Risa was born on November 5, 1998 in Tokyo, Japan.

On April 30, Ogata was introduced as a member of NICE GIRL Project! Kenshuusei during a live at Shinjuku BLAZE.

In summer 2012, she participated in the Morning Musume 11ki Member "Suppin Utahime" Audition, but failed to pass the third round. Her audition number was #125.

On November 16, NICE GIRL Project! and its trainee program was abolished. Soon after, Ogata, Hashimoto Nagisa, Horie Kizuki, Shimano Momoko, Hirose Ayaka, and Inoue Rei, were given the opportunity to become members of Hello Pro Kenshuusei, transferring to UP-FRONT PROMOTION and joining Hello! Project. They were formally introduced during the Hello Pro Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2014 ~11gatsu・12gatsu no Nama Tamago Show!~ on November 29 with three other girls.

On April 29, it was announced that Ogata would be debuting in a new unit named Tsubaki Factory alongside Yamagishi Riko, Kishimoto Yumeno, Niinuma Kisora, Asakura Kiki and Tanimoto Ami.

From June 18 to June 28, Ogata participated in TRIANGLE, an Engeki Joshibu musical starring Morning Musume '15.

On August 8, Ogata was announced as the sub-leader of Tsubaki Factory.

On November 6, Ogata celebrated her 19th birthday at a fanclub event titled Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2017, which featured two shows at TOKYO FM HALL.

On February 28, Ogata announced that she had become a member of the Hello! Project Mobile advertising department and the monthly exclusive radio program Hello! Project Mobile Sendenkaigi, joining current members Ogata Haruna, Nonaka Miki, and Yanagawa Nanami.[1]

On November 5, she celebrated her 20th birthday at a fanclub event titled Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2018, which featured two shows at Shinjuku ReNY.

On November 5, Ogata released her first solo photobook, titled Orange no Sunadokei ~Risa Hatachi~.[2]

On November 6, she celebrated her 21st birthday at a fanclub event titled Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2019, featuring two shows at Shinjuku ReNY.

On March 12, Ogata was to hold a joint fanclub event with Hirose Ayaka and Inoue Rei titled Kobushi Factory Hirose Ayaka・Inoue Rei & Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa FC Event 2020 at LANDMARK HALL. However, it was cancelled in consideration of a new policy established by the government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.[3]

On May 14, she opened up an official Instagram account.[4]

On October 8, it was announced on the official Hello! Project site that Ogata Risa has been suspended from all activities for an indeterminate amount of time due to rule violations. Ogata admitted to using a secret social media account as a vent diary, where she privately posted complaints that no one was meant to see. She clarified that while she did own the account, her posts were influenced by emotions, and many of them are not actually true. She offered to have her activities suspended for the time being to reflect on her behavior.[5] Her individual online release events through WithLIVE for "Dansha-ISM / Ima Nanji?" have been cancelled as a result, and tickets will be refunded.[6]

On December 28, it was announced on the official Hello! Project site that Ogata Risa has chosen to not resume her activities, and that she will depart from both Tsubaki Factory and Hello! Project. She will remain signed under UP-FRONT PROMOTION, and her future activities will be announced when they are decided.[7]

On June 1, Ogata resumed her activities and joined M-line club. Her first solo song "Far away", a cover of Mizukoshi Keiko's "Too Far Away", was uploaded to UP-FRONT Channel. In the same day, it was announced that she will be appearing in the M-line Special 2021 ~Make a Wish!~ tour as a guest on June 5 and 27 concerts, and as an opening act on June 20 and 26 concerts.[8]
