Ogata Haruna (尾形春水) is a YouTuber and former Japanese idol under Hello! Project as a 12th generation member of Morning Musume.[1] She graduated from both Morning Musume and Hello! Project at the Morning Musume Tanjou 20 Shuunen Kinen Concert Tour 2018 Haru ~We are MORNING MUSUME~ tour finale on June 20, 2018 and afterwards retired from entertainment.[2]
In 2019, she returned to the public eye as a YouTuber, and in 2021, she became a member of the YouTube girl group, Youplus alongside Nakanishi Kana and other former idols. Following the disbandment of Youplus in September 2023, she became a freelance talent and producer.

Early Life[]
Ogata Haruna was born on February 15, 1999 in Osaka, Japan and raised in the countryside of Osaka.[3] She began to figure skate at the age of 5 and continued skating for 9 years.
2014[]
In summer 2014, Ogata auditioned for the Morning Musume '14 <Golden> Audition! for an opportunity to join Morning Musume '14, and she successfully passed. She was introduced as a 12th generation member during the Morning Musume '14 Concert Tour Aki GIVE ME MORE LOVE ~Michishige Sayumi Sotsugyou Kinen Special~ at Nippon Budokan on September 30, alongside with Nonaka Miki, Makino Maria and Haga Akane.[1]
2015[]
On January 4, Ogata and and her fellow 12th generation members began a radio show on FM FUJI, titled Morning Musume '15 12ki Nikki.[4] They also began a web talk show exclusive to fanclub members on March 5, titled 12ki Relay.[5]
On June 12, Ogata released her first solo e-Hello! Blu-ray, Greeting ~Ogata Haruna~.
2016[]
On February 15, Ogata celebrated her 17th birthday at a fanclub event titled Morning Musume '16 Ogata Haruna Birthday Event, featuring two shows at Akasaka BLITZ.
On May 3, Ogata began the monthly radio show Hello! Project Mobile Sendenkaigi for the Hello! Project Mobile service along with "promotion manager" Kudo Haruka and fellow "promotion staff" members Nonaka Miki and Yanagawa Nanami.[6]
2017[]
On February 15, Ogata celebrated her 18th birthday at a fanclub event titled Morning Musume '17 Ogata Haruna Birthday Event, featuring two shows at Yamano Hall.
On February 16, the 12th generation's fanclub-exclusive web talk show 12ki Relay ended with a total of 100 episodes.[7] Their radio show Morning Musume '17 12ki Nikki also ended on March 26.[8]
On April 6, the Morning Musume '17 12th generation and 13th generation members began a radio show on FM FUJI, titled Morning Musume '17 no Morning Diary.[9]
On June 20, Ogata was announced as the main MC for a new sports program Hello! Athlete Megami that would begin airing July 2 on EX Sports and the SKY PerfecTV! Premium Service.[10][11] She would interview young female athletes who are expected to do well in the future.
2018[]
On February 15, Ogata celebrated her 19th birthday at a fanclub event titled Morning Musume '18 Ogata Haruna Birthday Event, featuring two shows at IMA Hall.
On February 28, she announced that the final episode of Hello! Athlete Megami would air in March.[12] The show ended on March 18 with a total of 18 episodes.
On March 27, it was announced that Ogata would graduate from Morning Musume '18 and Hello! Project to attend junior college. Her graduation would take place at the end of the Morning Musume Tanjou 20 Shuunen Kinen Concert Tour 2018 Haru ~We are MORNING MUSUME~ tour on June 20 at Nippon Budokan.[13]

On June 4, the 12th generation members held the Morning Musume '18 12ki Member Ogata Haruna・Nonaka Miki・Makino Maria・Haga Akane FC Event at Differ Ariake. Then the following week on June 14, Ogata held her last solo event, titled Morning Musume '18 12ki Member Ogata Haruna FC Event, at Namba Hatch.
On June 20, Ogata graduated and retired from entertainment.[2][15]
2019[]
On June 19, Ogata made a return to public eye after opening accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.[16]
On August 15, Ogata opened up her official YouTube channel, and began activities as a YouTuber.[17]
2020[]
On May 7, she opened up a fan community on fanicon.[18]
On July 21, she released collaboration clothes with the clothing brand, LIVERTINE AGE.[19]
2021[]
On April 3, Ogata was announced as a member of the YouTube group CHAOSPIPIS (later renamed Youplus) alongside five former members of other idol groups such as Nakanishi Kana (from ANGERME), Hayashida Mahiro (from Fairies), Okonogi Ruka (from akishibu project), Kawago Hina (from Nogizaka46), and Shiraki Riho (from Turtle Lily).[20]
2023[]
On July 8, it was announced that Youplus would be disbanding on September 3.[21]
On October 1, Ogata announced that she would hold auditions for a new idol group utilizing her experience 10 years since debuting.[22][23] The audition welcomed women under the age of 24 who were not currently signed to a talent agency and would be able to travel to Tokyo after passing the audition.[24] The audition process was announced to be broadcast on television in 2024.[25]
2024[]
Beginning January 4, Ogata starred in Ogata Haruna no Harunation TV, a weekly series airing on TV Saitama. The series will feature "Haru-hime" as she attempts new experiences around the Shimokitazawa area.[26] A release event was held on January 20.[27]
On February 15, she celebrated her 25th birthday at a special event titled Ogata Haruna 25th Birthday Party, featuring one show at Blue Square Yotsuya. For this event, she welcomed Nakanishi Kana and Yura Akari as special guests.[28]
Personal Life[]
Ogata is an only child.[29] Both of her parents are from Miyazaki Prefecture.[3][30] Her father is a normal salaryman, and her mother is around age 50 (as of March 2015).[3] Her family has a pet dog named Alf.[31]
Prior to joining Hello! Project, Ogata attended Doushisha Kouri Junior and High School (同志社香里中学校・高等学校),[32] a private school in Neyagawa, Osaka. When Ogata joined Morning Musume in September 2014, she was a first year high school student.[1] She graduated from high school on March 8, 2017.[33]
In April 2018, Ogata began attending junior college in preparation for transferring to a four-year university in the future.[13] As of March 2023, she graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University. She had transferred to the university after her second year in junior college.[34]
On March 25, 2023, Ogata announced that she'd graduated from university.[35]
Ogata began to figure skate at the age of 5 and continued skating until age 14. During those years, her mother drove a hour to the ice rink nearly on a daily basis everyday for practice.[3] The ice rink she practiced is the same one Olympic bronze medalist Takahashi Daisuke and was in the same group as rising star Miyahara Satoko.
From September 26 to September 29, 2013, Ogata participated in 2013 Kinki Region Figure Skating Championship Tournament (近畿フィギュアスケート選手権大会) and placed 41st place in the junior girls division.[36][37]
On September 28, 2014, she participated in the Heisei 26 Disctrict 2 5th Track Meet (平成26年度2地区第5回記録会) and placed 17th place in the 3000 meter run.[32][38]
She gets along best with Morning Musume member Nonaka Miki. Her and Nonaka Miki's official pairing name is "HaaChel" (はーちぇる).[39]
Ogata's given name, Haruna, means "spring" (春; haru) combined with "water" (水; na). Her parents chose the name so she would grow up pure like the water melted from winter snow in the spring and into a kind girl like the arrival of the warm spring after a harsh winter.[40]
