Morning Musume Best Selection ~The 25 Shuunen~ (モーニング娘。ベストセレクション ～The 25周年～) is the 9th best album by Morning Musume '23. It was released on August 30, 2023 in two editions: one regular and one limited. It features 16 re-recordings of past songs selected by Tsunku, recorded without the 17th generation, and three new songs.[1] The Limited Edition also comes with a Blu-ray of Morning Musume '22's live performance at COUNTDOWN JAPAN 22/23 on December 29, 2022.
This is the first album to feature the 16th and 17th generation members. It is the last album to credit Fukumura Mizuki.

- The album was announced on June 26, 2023 at the Morning Musume '23 25th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT TOUR ~glad quarter-century~ at Nippon Budokan, along with the first performance of "HEAVY GATE".
- According to Tsunku, some of the re-recordings have alterations:[13]
- The backing tracks of the re-recordings were remastered from the original versions except for "LOVE Machine (updated 23 Ver.)", "Ren'ai Revolution 21 (updated 23 Ver.)" and "Souda! We're ALIVE (updated 23 Ver.)".
- "LOVE Machine (updated 23 Ver.)" and "Ren'ai Revolution 21 (updated 23 Ver.)" have the same backing track from the updated versions released on the best album The Best! ~Updated Morning Musume~ in 2013. Although, the intro part of "LOVE Machine" was changed with the intro from the original version.
- "Souda! We're ALIVE (updated 23 Ver.)" was re-recorded with a new arrangement based on the original version.
- "Koko ni Iruzee! (23 Ver.)" has the same intro that it is commonly used in live performances.
