Miyazaki Yuka (宮崎由加) is a Japanese talent and former idol. She was the leader of the Hello! Project group Juice=Juice and a former member of the SATOYAMA movement unit GREEN FIELDS.[1][2]
She graduated from Juice=Juice and Hello! Project on June 17, 2019.[3][4][5][6]
Biography
Early Life
Miyazaki Yuka was born on April 2, 1994 in Ishikawa, Japan.
She started playing the piano at the age of 5 and continued learning until age 15.[7]
2011
In 2011, Miyazaki participated in the S/mileage Shin Member Boshuu! audition and made it to the finals, but she was not chosen to be in the group. During this time, she also auditioned for the Morning Musume 10ki Member "Genki Jirushi" Audition, but she did not make it to the fourth round.[8]
2012
On March 25, Miyazaki participated in the Dai 2 Kai Forest Award NEW FACE Audition, performing Otsuka Ai's "Planetarium". Despite not getting placed, she received the Samantha Thavasa Award, also known as the Promotional Award.[9][10] After winning the award, she received bi-weekly lessons in Tokyo.[10]
In the summer, she was seen auditioning for the 11th generation of Morning Musume, but did not make the finals.
On October 11, it was announced that Miyazaki would be officially debuting as a member of the new SATOYAMA movement unit GREEN FIELDS alongside Shimizu Saki and Mitsui Aika.[11][2]
On October 28, GREEN FIELDS made their first stage performances at Morning Musume Tanjou 15 Shuunen Kinen Concert Tour 2012 Aki ~Colorful Character~.[2][12] This was also Miyazaki's first stage performance as well.[13]
2013
On February 3, during the Hello! Project Tanjou 15 Shuunen Kinen Live 2013 Fuyu ~Bravo!~ concert in Fukuoka, it was announced that Miyazaki would debut in a new Hello! Project group, which was later named Juice=Juice, alongside Hello Pro Kenshuusei members Kanazawa Tomoko, Takagi Sayuki, Otsuka Aina, Miyamoto Karin and Uemura Akari.[14][15] Tsunku's comment regarding Miyazaki was:[8]
- "Although she's not part of the current Kenshuusei roster, she was one of the finalist in the 10th generation Morning Musume audition and the S/mileage new members recruitment. She's currently a part of the SATOYAMA movement unit GREEN FIELDS and after seeing her accomplishments there I decided to add her in this new group."
Since joining Juice=Juice, she performed with the group at various Hello Pro Kenshuusei events and participated as a MC.
On March 2 and 3, Miyazaki participated in Forest For Rest ~SATOYAMA e Ikou~ SATOYAMA movement in YOKOHAMA along with other Hello! Project and UP-FRONT GROUP talent.
On June 6, her profile was removed from the UP-FRONT PROMOTION website, indicating that she was no longer a solo talent and that she had become a full-member of Hello! Project.
On June 13, it was announced that Miyazaki would be the leader of Juice=Juice.[1]
2014
On February 24, Miyazaki's first solo e-Hello! DVD, Greeting ~Miyazaki Yuka~, was announced. It was released on April 18.
On April 15, Miyazaki and Takagi Sayuki held a joint birthday event titled Juice=Juice Miyazaki Yuka・Takagi Sayuki Birthday Event 2014, featuring two shows at TOKYO FM HALL.
2015
On February 12, Miyazaki held a talk event at the Hello! Project Official Shop in Akihabara.[16]
On April 2, Miyazaki celebrated her 21st birthday at a fanclub event titled Juice=Juice Miyazaki Yuka Birthday Event 2015, featuring two shows at TOKYO FM HALL.
2016
On February 9, it was announced that Miyazaki injured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right foot, which took up to three weeks to heal and limited her to performing from a chair during that time.[17]
On April 4, Miyazaki celebrated her 22nd birthday at a fanclub event titled Juice=Juice Miyazaki Yuka Birthday Event 2016, featuring three shows at TOKYO FM HALL.
2017
On February 9, it was announced that Miyazaki would be a model in the evelyn 2017 SS Catalog.[18]
On April 2, Miyazaki celebrated her 23rd birthday at an event titled Juice=Juice Miyazaki Yuka Birthday Event 2017, featuring two shows at TFT Hall 1000.
On April 13, Miyazaki announced she would appear as a catalog model for evelyn once again, and she and the store collaborated for the first time to design clothes.[19] The collaborative dresses were sold online from April 14 and in-stores from April 22. She also held storefront events on May 4 in Umeda and May 5 in Harajuku.[20][21]
On December 22, Miyazaki released the digital song "Zouni de Kenkashiten ja Nee yo" with Makino Maria and Kawamura Ayano.
2018
On February 13, Miyazaki was announced as a model for evelyn's 2018 SS Catalog alongside Makino Maria.[22]
On April 2, Miyazaki celebrated her 24th birthday at a fanclub event titled Juice=Juice Miyazaki Yuka Birthday Event 2018, featuring one show at Differ Ariake.
On August 16, the music video for Horiuchi Takao's August 22 single "Minna Shounen Datta" was uploaded on YouTube, featuring Miyazaki and six other Hello! Project members who all sing as chorus.[23]
On December 21, Miyazaki announced through Hello! Project Station that she would graduate from Juice=Juice and Hello! Project at the end of Juice=Juice's 2019 spring tour.[3][4]
2019
On January 10, Miyazaki appeared as a guest on the TV Kanazawa program Tonari no Telekin-chan where it was announced that she has joined as a semi-regular personality.[24][25]
On January 25, she was announced as a model for Án MILLE's 2019 SS Collection catalog.[26]
On April 10, she celebrated her 25th birthday at a fanclub event titled Juice=Juice Miyazaki Yuka Birthday Event 2019, featuring two shows at Shinagawa Stellar Ball.
On May 7, it was announced that Miyazaki collaborated with Án MILLE to design a long cotton dress that would be released in stores on May 16.[27][28]
On May 22, Miyazaki released her second solo photobook, titled Tsunagu.[29]
On June 13, she opened an official Instagram account.[30][31]
On June 16, Miyazaki had her last broadcast as a host for the Hello! SATOYAMA&SATOUMI Club radio show.[32]
Miyazaki graduated from Juice=Juice and Hello! Project on June 17 in the Hello Pro Premium Juice=Juice CONCERT TOUR 2019 ~JuiceFull!!!!!!!~ FINAL Miyazaki Yuka Sotsugyou Special at Nippon Budokan.[5][6]
On July 4, she was transferred to J.P ROOM.[33]
On July 10, it was announced that Miyazaki would join M-line club in August.[34]
On July 16, she was announced as the model for Án MILLE's 2019 AW catalog.[35]
On September 20, she opened an official Twitter account.[36]
From November 20 to November 24, she performed in the stage play Okusuri no Kusuri.[37][38]
On December 7, she held the Miyazaki Yuka FC Event 2019 ~Minna! Hantoshi Buri!!~, her first M-line club event, which featured three shows at Shibuya SHIDAX Culture Hall.
On December 31, she appeared as a special guest MC at Hello! Project COUNTDOWN PARTY 2019 ~GOOD BYE & HELLO!~ alongside Kudo Haruka.[39]
2020
On January 3, she began broadcasting her own radio show, titled Miyazaki Yuka no Pinky Friday, on FM Ishikawa (HELLO FIVE) every Friday.[40][41]
Personal Life
Miyazaki has an older brother and a younger sister.[42] She also has dogs named Kuu-chan and Milk.
When Miyazaki debuted as a member of GREEN FIELDS in October 2012, she was a third year high school student. In April 2013, she began university, but dropped out in March 2014 to focus on Juice=Juice.
Miyazaki's given name Yuka was chosen for its stroke count.[43]

- When asked by fans what made her audition for Hello! Project, she replied: "I watched Michishige Sayumi-san appear on TV often, and remembered that when I was little I was a huge fan to the extent I collected lots of cards. People also bought lots of DVDs with Morning Musume-san MVs in them, so that’s how I got to love Morning Musume-san."
