Synopsis[]

Mayonakanihello door

The mysterious door.

Azumi, a manga artist, is staying at the guesthouse "Sun Plaza Asanuma" with the cheapest accommodation. However, she can't concentrate on her work because she is bothered by the lively voices of the house mother, Mariko (Kikuchi Momoko), and her daughter, Misaki (Ohara Yuno), coming from the common space. When she looks up the reputation of Sun Plaza Asanuma on the internet, she finds a list of bad reviews, but among them she finds a mysterious comment: “A door opens.” Then, when Azumi is stuck at work, a “door” suddenly appears in front of her that leads to the backstage of Hello! Project...

Plot[]

The Asanuma house receives guests, just like an Airbnb, and the daughter Misaki is always worried about their rating on the app, since the mom, Mariko, is a Hello! Project wota and keeps blasting their songs on the radio. Mariko likes to pick the ideal song for every situation (like Odore! Morning Curry for when Kisaki is making curry, etc) but Misaki says she should keep her hobbies for herself and stop bothering the guests.

The thing is, Mariko seems to have a special power where she can summon this "Mysterious Door" when the guests are in trouble, where they'll be helped by H!P members and the song she chose for the occasion. The door appears in the middle of nowhere, at night, with only "HELLO!" written in it, and when the guest crosses it, they get into the backstage of Hello! Project, where they meet the members. They proceed to perform the song that helps with the guest's problems, the one Mariko has chosen. The dream-like event ends, they leave the house (maybe having become a H!P fan themselves) and the next episode will have a new guest with a new problem to solve.

Muraki Azuki, an aspiring manga artist, gets help from Morning Musume '22.
Full Description
Muraki Azumi (29) wants to become published Manga artist. In order to focus, she leaves the house she lives with her mom and rents a room in Sun Plaza Azanuma. She finishes her draft to what appears to be a Shoujo Manga (romance for girls), but when she shows it to the magazine editor, he says it's too straightforward for the current generation likes, even thought her drawing is good.

However, once she's back to the room in the guest house, Azumi gets a call from him, saying another artist suddenly gave up her publication, and asking for her to finish the drawings for another work as soon as possible. Even though it's from the isekai genre, which Azumi isn't used to, she accepts the challenge in order to finally have her name on a publication. When she's about to start, Mariko blasts Naichau Kamo on the radio downstairs. Azumi gets down to ask her to please stop the music for that night since she finally got her chance, but Mariko can only think of another song to fit the situation and say maybe it help when a door appears in from of her, and kindly asks Azumi to wait for only about 3 minutes while she plays Mikan.

After spending all night working on the drawings, Azumi calls the editor, but he doesn't answer. When she decides to go and deliver the drawings in person, he already got someone else's drawings for the manga. They argue and he says he's sorry but the other one is better than hers. She leaves and is about to send a message to her mom, saying she's giving up on drawing manga, when a mysterious door appears in the middle of the street. She enters the door, where she finds Mariko in what appears to be a backstage room.

The girls from Morning Musume (Mizuki, Sakura, Akane, Chisaki, Reina and Homare) come and say that it's ok, they also lose confidence sometimes, but since everyone's with them, they get to work hard nonetheless. Then they say it's time for the show, and lead the very confused Azumi through another door that leads to Azumi's own room. The girls start to sing and dance to Mikan, while Azumi keeps telling to stop. At one point, the girls start to trash the room, saying since Azumi's giving up on drawing, they've come to destroy it all. But then a box falls revealing Azumi's very first Manga drawing, which her mom even got framed, reminding her of her original motivation.

The performance ends on a rooftop, where Mariko welcomes Azumi to the "Hello". The episode cuts to Azumi leaving Sun Plaza Azanuma, saying she'll be thinking about her true motivation to draw manga.

Mitamura Yuuha, a game developer that just changed companies and is having a hard time fitting in, gets help from H!P members that didn't have Hello Pro Kenshuusei experience.
Full Description
Mariko and Misaki are discussing what they should get for lunch when the door bell rings. It's a woman wanting to order their food for takeout, but since they're a guest house, Misaki is ready to dismiss her, when Mariko shows up and recognizes her as Yuuha, a previous guest. Mariko invites her in, to what Yuuha tells what's been troubling her.

She got into the company she had admired for a long time, but she's an introvert and can't seem to fit in. They have this monthly party in the company every last friday of the month, where they eat, drink beer and talk, and someone from the group will be in charge of ordering the food, usually from a fancy restaurant. When they decide to have Yuuha as the person in charge for the next month's menu, she gets desperate, as she doesn't really go out at all and doesn't know any restaurants besides fast food. She went to the Sun Plaza Asanuma in hope they'd let her order the famous karê for takeout, but Misaki says she can't compete with the fancy restaurants. Yuuha is disappointed, but she's ready to leave, when Mariko says that, at least, they can open the door for her.

When Yuuha gets back to work, her colleagues are planning a prank, something they always do when it's someone's birthday, but Yuuha hadn't heard of it before and ends up messing the prank. One of the guys says she should try to fit in already, and another one says she can make up for it with her food choice for the party, putting even more pressure on her. Back in the Sun PLaza Asanuma, Misaki decides to cook something for Yuuha, after all, to what Mariko says she'll probably won't need it, as Mariko gave her trustworthy allies. At the end of the day, Yuuha is running out of time and still haven't decided on the menu, when the mysterious door appears.

As she crosses it, Mariko is waiting for her on the usual backstage, where they're joined by Moe, Layla and Kawana Rin from ANGERME, Miyo, Utano and Honoka from BEYOOOOONDS. When Yuuha asks who they are, Mariko says they're members who got into Hello! Project through public auditions and didn't have prior experience from the H!P Kenshuusei, so they also understand what it's like to be in a place you don't really fit in at first. The girls take Yuuha to the "stage", which is the room Yuuha had her job interview, where they proceed to perform Souda! We're ALIVE. As the song pauses, the men leading the interview ask Yuuha how she felt now that she was actually working on the company, and after she says how she feels difficult to fit in, they ask what's she going to do from now on. The performance resumes on the rooftop and Mariko welcomes Yuuha to the Hello.

At the end, Yuuha decides to order from the fast food chain she likes the most, and brings Gyudon (beef and rice bowl). At first her colleagues are hesitating, but when they eat it, it's delicious. The episode ends with Yuuha visiting Sun Plaza Asanuma and having a great time talking about idols with Mariko. Misaki is kinda jealous of them.

Yoshino Ayame, who works at the planning department of a jam making company, gets help from Morning Musume '22.
Full Description
Mariko and Misaki are having breakfast, and Mariko asks for Misaki to give her the slice with this new jam flavor, Cherry Honey, but keeps looking jealous when Misaki starts to eat her other slice, with Kinkan Jam. Their current guest, Yoshino Ayame, shows up at the kitchen and says she actually works for the company that makes the jam, which is close to the Sun Plaza Asanuma, and that the Kinkan Jam is her first project. Ayame says she chose to stay there that night because they're going to start this big project on the company and she wanted to stay closer. Mariko says that's something to celebrate, and brings 4 CDs with celebration songs to play for them (they are: Happy Summer Wedding, Chou HAPPY SONG, Sekaiichi HAPPY na Onna no Ko and Asian Celebration).

When Ayame gets to the company, her junior Nanajo Sae asks why is she not wearing a more flashy outfit, since she'll probably be assigned as the new project leader and have to give a speech in front of everyone, but Ayame says she's not that confident. In fact, is Nanajo who's called. The scene cuts back to the Asanuma's at night, where Ayame tells them she's got so shocked she couldn't congratulate Nanajo, but plans on doing so the next day. Ayame says she's rather happy, since she taught Nanajo during her first year at the company and she's almost like a daughter to her, to what Misaki doubts. Mariko offers to play the perfect song for the moment, but Ayame declines, and Mariko says everyone's like that before opening the door, and that the music could help when the door appears in front of her.

The next day, several of Nanajo's good points are showed: she takes 2 hours on the train home, and uses that time to work. Her clothes are cute but also cheap. On her day off, she's going to drive for her parents all day for their wedding anniversary. She and Ayame are having lunch together, and she's made a natural divisor with lettuce inside her bento, instead of using a plastic disposable one. She uses expensive tissues to clear her lap when she drops something. Ayame is also jealous of how she's bold with her answers, general way of speaking and creative thinking. At the end of lunch, Nanajo thanks her, because she's only got so far thanks to everything Ayame taught her. When she gets back to the Asanuma's, she's conflicted with her feelings, and Mariko says it's only jealousy and that's natural for everyone, but Ayame says she never felt like that before. Mariko then plays Jealousy Jealousy on the radio to celebrate Ayame's jealousy debut.

On the next day, Ayame arrives at the company wearing a bright red blouse and speaking roughly just like Nanajo. Everyone is shocked, and her boss calls her to a separate room to talk. He apologizes for letting her down and asks for her to stop all of that if she's doing it out of spite, but she says no, she's only doing it for her (jealousy) debut. When he says she should make use of her own qualities, she's so lost that she ends up resorting to an online personality test, and the result is "low self-esteem". She's called to help with the stock with Nanajo, where she's confronted with the cruel truth: her Kinkan Jam is pilling up with 300 boxes, while Nananjo's Cherry Honey has only 30.

Later, she's alone working late, all sad, when the door appears. When she crosses it, she finds Mariko on the usual backstage, and Momusu members Erina, Ayumi, Miki, Maria, Kaede, Rio and Mei show up to tell her how idols also feel frustration and jealousy, like Kaedy, who's spend 4 years as a trainee, and Eripon, who don't get solo lines very often. They take Ayame to the stock room where they perform Jealousy Jealousy. The episode ends with Ayame telling Nanajo she's decided to go after Nanajo's back, and she won't lose.

Nishi Nonoka, who hoped to enter the development department at a beer company but instead is put into sales, gets help from BEYOOOOONDS.
Full Description
During the welcome party to a new guest, Nishi Nonoka, Mariko and Misaki are playing a game of saying random sentences, when they realize their guest isn't drunk at all (in comparison to them). Nonoka says that it's in her family genes being strong with alcohol. Mariko passes out on the couch, while Nonoka and Misaki keep talking on the kitchen. Nonoka is telling how she joined this beer company because she likes doing research, but was assigned to the sales department instead. Mariko wakes up and asks if she thinks it's gonna be alright, but Nonoka says she's having trouble adapting to work and her senior, to what Mariko says the door must be almost coming anyway, and starts to choose a song to play.

The next day, Nonoka goes with Yoshikado, her senior in the sales dept., to visit some clients. She quickly realizes Yoshikado has a very special and unique way of approaching people, joking and making skit-like situations like pretending to be married to a shop owner and that Nonoka was their daughter, or announcing the beer product like it was a pro-wrestler entering the match. Nonoka is very shy and clumsy, and can't keep up at all. On the next day, she meets with the senior researcher she admired even before joining the company, and rants about how hard sales is to her. Her senior says Yoshikado was also shy at the beggining, and that sales is the most important department on the company, so she's expecting great things from Nonoka.

Nonoka tries to talk to the same clients from the day before, but they're both disappointed that she came alone, without the funny Yoshikado. She ends up messing things when they try to joke with her, and she finishes the day crying inside her car, when the mysterious door appears. What she finds inside is Mariko playing the piano. After the usual "this is the backstage" talking, they're joined by BEYOOOOONDS members, that tell Nonoka they experienced the same thing. They lead her through a door to the shopping area she spoke with her clients, and begin performing "Konna Hazu ja Nakatta!". During the performance, she's confronted by the client that is a pro-wrestling fan, but she can't answer him back. The members encourage her, saying she has to try again and again, to what she finally gives an answer and performs a pro-wrestling move on him. When the performance ends, Mariko welcomes Nonoka to the "only one" Hello.

At the end, Nonoka talks to the clients again, but this time she's more relaxed. The shop owner even tells her that, in the beginning, Yoshikado also joined the company hoping to go to the research department. She gets home to the Asanuma's, where they're playing the sentences game once more, but sober. But they're having so much fun that Nonoka says they don't even need alcohol.

Full Description
The episode starts with Misaki trying to decide if she goes to a class reunion from her old college class. Mariko encourages her because she have few friends, but Misaki laughs and says Mariko doesn't either. She's eating an tasty pastry and asks where Misaki bought it, but she didn't, neither did Mariko...

On the design company, Sumire and her junior are presenting a product proposal to their boss (Nakajima Takui), but he barely looks at their presentation and says it needs a step further. Sumire's junior leaves completely frustrated, but Sumire says they should work on it a little more, and offers to take her to the gym so thay can run their frustrations out. The girl says no, because not everyone's like Sumire, working so hard and still having a perfect Instagram feed, going to museums, go camping, having dates, drinking fancy coffee. She asks Sumire to take her out for drinking, but Sumire says she already have plans with a friend from her hometown that night.

Turns out her friend, Yumi, was staying in Sun Plaza Asanuma, and the pastries Mariko and Misaki ate were hers. She had brought them all the way from Ehime (840km / 520mi from Tokyo) to give them to Sumire, as obanyaki is her favorite sweet. The Asanumas want to apologise from eating the gift, so Mariko implores Yumi to ask Sumire to sleep there that night as well, without paying a fee, so they can chat all they want. Sumire ends up coming, and they tell Mariko about how they came to Tokyo around the same time for college, and that they used to do all the laborious art tasks together, staying up late. Misaki says how she envys a relationship like that. Sumire says that time was her peak of enjoyment, to what Yumi asks about her perfect feed, but Sumire says she still has to try more new things. Mariko then asks if she can play the perfect song for the moment, which is "Mou Ippo" (one more step). The title makes Sumire sad, thinking of her boss, but Mariko soothes her, saying the door should be appearing for her soon.

When they're about to sleep, Yumi says Sumire should rest more and come to their hometown more often, but Sumire wants to finish things up before coming back. She asks if Yumi got a job as a designer, but she replies that there's no room for newcomers back home. Then, we follow Sumire as her proposal gets rejected multiple times by her boss, that always says "Maybe one more step". When she's running at the gym to try to keep focused, she ends up overdoing it and falling from the treadmill, injuring her foot.

When Yumi founds out about it, she comes back to Tokyo to help Sumire with things, and brings her obanyaki. She even offers to help with Sumire's proposal, like old times, but Sumire refuses. Back to work, she watches as someone else's proposal gets approved. That night, she enters the door to meet with Akari, Ayano, Rikako, Moe and Layla from ANGERME. They say they all understand how Tokyo's frenetic pace makes them overdue things in order to keep up. Then, they lead Sumire in a wheelchair to another room, where her foot is healed and they start to rope-jump together, but the ANGERME members leave to perform Mou Ippo. At the end, Mariko welcomes her to the Hello as usual.

The ending scene is Sumire going to Ehime to invite Yumi to work together with her again, doing new designing projects.

Okunaka Yuujiro, who's having a communication trouble with his teenage daughter Ao, gets help from Tsubaki Factory.
Full Description
Yuujiro is a middle aged dad that goes to the Sun Plaza Asanuma ask for advice, as he and his daughter aren't talking to each other at all, and he thinks she hates him. He makes Mariko and Misaki do a "staged family play" with him, where hey act as the perfect daughter and perfect wife. But he ends up crying with happiness and messing up everything. Misaki says it wouldn't help solving the problem anyway, and that all girls are like that with their fathers, but Mariko says she and her own father used to go along very well, and it's revealed that Misaki's dad died when she was in high school. When Mariko asks what was it that he needed help with, Yuujiro says his wife asked him to pick up his daughter, Ao, from school, and have dinner together as she wouldn't be able to cook that day.

They proceed to help him plan a good way to present himself on the date, how to talk to Ao, how to invite her to dinner, and Mariko says he doesn't need to worry, because surely the door will appear to him. Part of the plan is to give her a gift instead of trying asking random questions, and he brings her seaweed, which seems random but it's a food item Ao likes. Mariko also thinks he should use the "Tell your feelings in a straight-forward manner" strategy, which he does, but when Ao is about to answer him, she gets invited by a friend to eat at McDonalds. Yuujiro says she can go, as friends are also important.

After she lefts, he is walking all sad, looking at the happy families having dinner together at a local diner, when he finds the door. Inside, Mariko says he will be helped by the group that best understand about the "maiden heart", Tsubaki Factory. They praise Yuujiro for his courage, and then lead him to the diner, and start to perform Konya Dake Ukaretakatta. After the first chorus ends, they appear on a movie theater showing scenes of Ao growing up, and all the members are crying. Then, they appear on a merry-go-round, with Yuujiro dancing as well. When the song ends, Mariko welcomes him to the Hello.

Back to the real world, Yuujiro is running when Ao finds him, and says she denied her friend invitation. She thought he was mad with her, and it was all a big misunderstanding. He invites her to the diner, but since he gave her seaweed, she asks for sushi. At the end, he thanks the Asanumas and gives them seaweed as well. As they say goodbye, Misaki says she misses her dad, and Mariko glosses over it saying they should do a sushi party.

Otsuka Kyoka, a fierce career woman who is having doubts about her "late bloomer" boyfriend, gets help from ANGERME.
Full Description
The episode opens with Mariko, Misaki, and their guest Kyoka playing BlackJack with the special H!P themed deck. Kyoka asks them to reply directly if they think it's a yes or a no, and they both end up saying it's a no. Later we find out she was asking what they think about her boyfriend, Mikoshiba Hiroyuki, who Kyoka brought to the Sun Plaza Asanuma to meet with Mariko and Misaki. Since Kyoka is such a praiseworthy career woman, they imagine her boyfriend will be a very impressive and imponent man, so they dress up in fancy clothes to meet him.

But... Hiroyuki is a very unique person. He presents himself (even in his greeting card) as an "obsessed person" - obsessed with life. When Misaki asks what he does for a living, he says he does "Mikoshiba Hiroyuki". When Mariko asks if that means he's unemployed, Kyoka cuts in saying he will soon open an "online saloon" (a japanese term for private livestreams only your subs can watch), and Hiroyuki says he wants to increase the number of "obsessed people", so he wants to make a move towards that goal. He asks Mariko why she opened the guest house; Mariko replies she wanted to create a space where busy people like Kyoka could rest, but isn't sure if it was the right thing to do - but Hiroyuki says what really matters is not what you do, but why you do it.

Back to the BlackJack scene, Kyoka knew they weren't going to "approve" Hiroyuki. Misaki says that if she knows it, she should break up as soon as possible and find a boyfriend with a better future prospect, but even though Kyoka is not sure why she fell in love with Hiroyuki, she hesitates. When she manages to make BlackJack with a figure card and an Ace card, she realizes Hiroyuki is just like an Ace in BlackJack: he can end up being 1 or 11 points, and that maybe he is a late bloomer. Next, there's a scene in Kyoka's workplace where she is scolding her junior for not doing a passionate job, and he doesn't really reply to her questions, so she uses Hiroyuki's phrase: "what really matters is not what you do, but why you do it". But her colleagues only see her as a sadistic workaholic.

She opens Hiroyuki's online saloon, but there's only her, Mariko, Misaki and one other person watching. Hiroyuki is on camera on a parking lot, talking his usual nonsense. When she gives up watching it, she finds the mysterious door in front of her inside the office. Inside, she finds Mariko and the members of ANGERME, who encourage her to keep being positive. They take Kyoka to the parking lot Hiroyuki is doing his livestream, and perform Taiki Bansei. The episode finishes with Kyoka and Hiroyuki receiving flowers from Mariko and Misaki as a congratulation gift for their wedding. Kyoka asks Hiroyuki to wait out side a bit, and confesses to the Asanumas that she doesn't care if Hiroyuki becomes a late bloomer or not, because life is fun when he's around.

Iura Hibiki, an english teacher looking for romance, gets help from Juice=Juice junior members.
Full Description
Hibiki gets a ride back home (to the Sun Plaza Asanuma) by her coworker. Mariko and Misaki are curious and ask her if there could be any romantic intentions, but Hibiki says he's only being kind. When Misaki asks what are Hibiki's intentions, she ends up showing that she actually has a crush on him: Tawada Tsutomu, but at the english school, he's known by the name Ben. One day after class, two women teachers are talking about using a matching app and one of them thinks one guys looks like Ben - but it isn't, for Hibiki's relief. But the other says it couldn't be Ben, since he has a girlfriend. That's why Hibiki decided not to confess her feelings.

And that's also part of the reason she started to use a matching app herself; so she could find someone with "better specs" than Ben. But Hibiki is too strict with her conditions and has a hard time, even seeing 2 guys a week. When Misaki suggests maybe the reason she doesn't hit off with anyone is because she truly likes Ben, Hibiki confesses that recently her boyfriend she was dating for 8 years broke up with her, and now she's scared to get hurt again. Mariko says she has a song that might help.

The next day, after class, Hibiki is talking with her teacher friends when Ben enters the staff room spacing out, and one of her friends says she's heard that Ben and her girlfriend broke up, and that is was Hibiki's chance. She goes out on a date that night with one of her matches, but she can't focus and her date gets mad at her for not being sincere. She's wandering alone when she finds the door - inside, Mariko as usual, who says Hibiki's pure heart are just like Juice=Juice members. The girls pull Hibiki all the way to a classroom, where a younger, uniformed version of Hibiki is writting a love letter to Ben while the girls perform Romance no Tochuu. Hibiki is still scared, but the girls encourage her.

Back to the real world, Hibiki asks Ben out, but gets rejected. Right after, her matching app date coincidently enters the english school, and that could have an unexpected ending. At the Sun Plaza Asanuma, Mariko gets home to the sound of an H!P song, and find Misaki in front of the radio with a heavy mood. Misaki then asks very seriously to Mariko: "What do you do inside the door?".

Misaki faces Mariko about the truth of the door.
Full Description
Misaki finally asks seriously about the door comments they keep getting on the guest house evaluations. Mariko explains it all, and says that, if a song from H!P resonates with you, the door might be close, and invites Misaki to open it with her. But Misaki is scared and declines.

She then goes out to meet with a friend, who says she can help whenever Misaki decides to try to work outside of the guest house, and encourages her to talk about it with her mom, and that it can be for the good of both since it would force Mariko to be more reliable and stop depending on Misaki for everything. Then, we see a flashback showing how the two of them could never really talk about important stuff in the past, and after Misaki's father died, Mariko suddenly decided to quit her job and start working on the guest house alone, but since she couldn't really get anything done by herself, Misaki decided to work there with her instead of searching for a job like her friends at the university. Another flashback shows us that, because Misaki's father asked Mariko to try harder to connect with Misaki, she listened to Misaki's iPod and discovered Morning Musume and Hello! Project. The next day she already put up a shrine with dozens of CDs and a poster, but Misaki wasn't that big of a fan to begin with, and gets upset with her mother's fervent questions.

Misaki gets back from the hangout and falls asleep. When she wakes up, Mariko says she already decided that she's going to do all of the guest house work alone, so that Misaki can go to a different job like her friends. But Misaki gets very upset that Mariko keeps deciding everything on her own without even asking what she wants. They fight and Misaki runs out of the house. She then finds the door, where Mariko welcomes her, and says that Juice=Juice is going to perform to her true feelings. Mariko is also invited to watch. But the song is not "Dream Road", but "Hitori de Ikiraresou" tte Sore tte Nee, Homete Iru no?. Misaki then says that she wasn't doing it all for Mariko, but also for herself, because she is insecure, and all the she wanted was to talk more about it with her mom. Misaki and Mariko get ready for their new future.
Full Description
Misaki says she always watched the guests leaving the guest house knowing where they wanted to go next, and that she also wants to try having that feeling. So she asks Mariko if it's ok for her to start a new job and move out from the house so she can see what is like living alone. They even go together to look at her new apartment. But Mariko is really bad at doing house chores and at doing the guest house work, and Misaki doesn't have all the time to teach her. Misaki's friend, the same one who offered to help with the job, shows up and take them to the beach so they can freshen up.

There, Mariko apologizes for giving Misaki so much trouble, but she only says it's just like her to do so. Misaki says she did well quitting her job and continuing the guest house, and Mariko says it was all thanks to her and her dad, because they made her know Hello! Project. It was the first time the door was open. Then Mariko says Misaki should take the iPod with her to her new house as a symbol of their family.

Then, Misaki's friend, who was waiting on the car, appears on the beach crying because she was just rejected by a guy she fancied. Mariko tries to choose a song to cheer her up and they laugh as they leave. The next scene is the farewell as Misaki leaves the house on to her new apartment. After Mariko is left alone, the door appears in the middle of her living room. Inside, Morning Musume '22 is waiting to help her get ready for her new life, and thank her for all of her work leading people inside the door and introducing them to H!P. They sing I WISH (2022), and Mariko sings the last phrase.

The last scene is Nagi, Misaki's friend, finding the door. But it's not Mariko who welcomes her inside, it's Misaki. OCHA NORMA's members appear briefly before the show ends.

The same Kenshuusei generation members are getting ready inside the door, but the person that shows up is not who they were expecting.
Full Description
Kashiwagi Yuki is watching an episode of "Mayonaka ni Hello!" when her manager calls her out to work. After working, she is pretty spaced out. When she gets on the car, she can't stop talking about how she wants the door to appear to her, but since the doesn't have any problems from them to solve, it won't appear. Her manager is worried and doesn't understand a single thing.

Inside the door, Kawamura, Hashisako and Yamazaki are waiting when Nishida gets there and they realize they're among same generation members (they all joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei together at the same time) - the only member missing is Yokoyama Reina, and they even talk about how it would be better if Yokoyan was there too. Kawamura butchers a tuna fish for them as they talk about the guest they're supposed to help, a nailist called Mitsuko, who is having a problem regarding "character". She says that, even thought she is more experienced and skilled, another nailist who has a stronger character gets more appointments than her. For that, Mariko chooses the song Onna no Sono. But after rehearsing, the girls think that this song is merely what Mariko wants to see they perform together, not the best song to help Mitsuko. They decide to choose a new song, and end up going for Egao no Kimi wa Taiyou sa.

They rehearse the song and get ready for the real thing. But who opens the door is Kashiwagi, not Mitsuko.

Trivia[]

  • OCHA NORMA sings the opening for the show, but have not made an appearance in it as a group.
  • The show's title seems to be referencing the city pop hit "Mayonaka no Door~stay with me" by Matsubara Miki.
  • The name of the lodging is "Sunplaza Asanuma" in reference of the venue Nakano Sunplaza, a classic venue for Hello! Project's live concerts.
  • One of the protagonist's name, Mariko, may be a reference to Mariko from the "Naichau Kamo" lyrics - she even plays the song a few seconds in episode 1. Plus, her name is written using katakana only, just like the original lyrics.
  • Since Ohara Yuno comes from a dance background, she quickly picked up the choreography required for the opening theme. Kikuchi Momoko had a harder time memorizing the steps.[2]
  • In episode 2, there's a restaurant named Lotta Love (Rottara) Buono, a reference to "Rottara Rottara".
  • In episode 3, there's a personality test called Honto no Jibun, written "ホントのじぶん", exactly like the song by Buono!.
  • In episode 5, Nakajima Takui appears as a design company boss, and the episode's theme song "Mou Ippo" is one of the songs he composed for ANGERME.
  • This show started airing exactly 10 years after Hello! Project's last drama, Suugaku♥Joshi Gakuen.
  • The web exclusive episode features AKB48 member Kashiwagi Yuki, who auditioned for Morning Musume during the Morning Musume Happy 8ki Audition.
  • In the first episode of the dTV Web Exclusive, Kawamura Ayano butchers an entire tuna. At the time this was filmed, she was the only woman (and ninth Japanese national overall) to have successfully passed the level one tuna demolitionist exam.
