Matsumoto Wakana (松本わかな, real name: 松本若菜) is a Japanese pop singer under Hello! Project as a 9th generation member of ANGERME.

2020[]
On November 2, it was announced on ANGERME's YouTube Channel that Matsumoto had joined ANGERME as a 9th generation member, alongside Kawana Rin and Tamenaga Shion. She and the rest of the 9th generation started performing with the group on December 9, at the ANGERME Concert 2020 ~Kishotenketsu~ Funaki Musubu Sotsugyou Special concert.[1]
2022[]
On July 14, it was announced that Matsumoto was diagnosed with COVID-19. On July 13, she had symptoms of fever and sore throat, and after undergoing a PCR test, a positive reaction for COVID-19 was confirmed. She would be resting in her home for the time being. Based in the results, the staff determined that the ANGERME members were close contacts of Matsumoto and, along with her, would be also take a rest as a waiting period with the guidance of local governments and public health centers. Other than Matsumoto, no symptoms of fever or other symptoms were confirmed for the ANGERME members. As result, the July 16 concert of the Hello! Project 2022 Summer CITY CIRCUIT ANGERME CONCERT TOUR ~The ANGERME Encore~ in Hiroshima was cancelled.[2] She resumed activities on July 24.
On September 1, she celebrated her 15th birthday at a fanclub event titled ANGERME Matsumoto Wakana Birthday Event 2022 with two shows at LANDMARK HALL.[3] In compliance with government policy, cheering, crowding, standing, and closeness in the venue are prohibited, and wearing masks are required to enter.

On September 1, she celebrated her 16th birthday at a fanclub event titled ANGERME Matsumoto Wakana Birthday Event 2023 with two shows at LANDMARK HALL.

- The kanji characters for her name (松本若菜) are the same as the ones for the Japanese actress Matsumoto Wakana.
- She shares a birthday with former Hello Pro Kenshuusei member Doi Rena.
