Kasahara Momona (笠原桃奈) is a Japanese singer and model. She is a former idol under Hello! Project as the sole fifth generation member of ANGERME. She first joined Hello! Project as a Hello Pro Kenshuusei on May 4, 2015, when she was introduced at the Hello Pro Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2015 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~.
She graduated from ANGERME and Hello! Project on November 15, 2021 and left the entertainment industry to move abroad to study singing and dancing.[1]
As of December 16, 2023 she is the leader of the idol group ME:I, formed through the survival show PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS.[2]

Early Life[]
Kasahara Momona was born on October 22, 2003 in Kanagawa, Japan.
2014[]
In 2014, she entered the Morning Musume '14 <Golden> Audition!, but failed.
2015[]
On April 1, Kasahara joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei. She was formally introduced and participated in the Hello Pro Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2015 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ on May 4, 2015 alongside Ono Mizuho, Nakano Rion, Yanagawa Nanami, Maeda Kokoro, Akiyama Mao, Kanatsu Mizuki and Okamoto Honoka.
2016[]
On May 5, she was awarded the public vote for best performance alongside Kiyono Momohime at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2016 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ for her performance of "Itoshiku Kurushii Kono Yoru ni".
On July 16, during the opening Hello! Project 2016 SUMMER concert, it was announced that Kasahara had joined ANGERME as the 5th generation member.[3] According to Wada Ayaka, Kasahara had been participating in lessons with the group since May.
On November 15, Kasahara celebrated her 13th birthday at a special event titled ANGERME Kasahara Momona Birthday Event 2016, which featured two shows at TOKYO FM HALL.
2017[]
On October 23, Kasahara celebrated her 14th birthday at a fanclub event titled ANGERME Kasahara Momona Birthday Event 2017, which featured two shows at TOKYO FM HALL.
2018[]
On November 6, Kasahara celebrated her 15th birthday in a joint fanclub event with Kamikokuryo Moe, titled ANGERME Kamikokuryo Moe・Kasahara Momona Birthday Event 2018, at Shinagawa Stellar Ball.
On November 30, former Morning Musume member Takahashi Ai published the Ai Takahashi MAKE-UP BOOK in which Kasahara and five other active Hello! Project members appear as models.[4]
2019[]
Kasahara was featured in graduation2019 Chuugaku Sotsugyou, a collection of interviews and gravure photos commemorating her and other idols' graduation from middle school, which was published by TOKYONEWS magazine&mook on March 1.[5]
On October 22, she released her first solo visual photobook, titled Momona.[6]
On November 8, Kasahara celebrated her 16th birthday in a joint fanclub event with Kamikokuryo Moe, titled ANGERME Kamikokuryo Moe・Kasahara Momona Birthday Event 2019, at CLUB CITTA'.
2020[]
On July 13, it was announced that she would be one of several current and former Hello! Project members starring in a new horror television drama based on the book, Hobonichi no Kaidan. The drama began airing in August 2020.[7][8][9]
On October 22, she celebrated her 17th birthday at a fanclub event titled ANGERME Kasahara Momona Birthday Event 2020, featuring two shows at Square Ebara Hiratsuka Hall.[10] In compliance with government policy, cheering, crowding, standing, and closeness in the venue were prohibited, and wearing masks were required to enter.
2021[]
On June 21, it was announced that Kasahara would be graduating from ANGERME and Hello! Project and also leave the entertainment industry by the end of 2021 to move abroad to study singing and dancing. She and the staff talked about her graduation around the end of 2020 and started to take concrete decisions this year.[11]
On September 13, it was announced that Kasahara's graduation concert was scheduled for November 15 at Nippon Budokan. It was also announced that she would be performing at Hello! Project 2021 Aki "Zoku Kachou Fuugetsu" tour as part of the team Tori up until November 13 due to her graduation.[1]
On October 22, she celebrated her 18th birthday at a fanclub event titled ANGERME Kasahara Momona Birthday Event 2021, featuring two shows at Shintoshi Hall.[12] In compliance with government policy, cheering, crowding, standing, and closeness in the venue were prohibited, and wearing masks were required to enter.
On October 26, Kasahara celebrated her 18th birthday in a joint fanclub event with Kamikokuryo Moe, titled ANGERME Kamikokuryo Moe & Kasahara Momona Birthday Event 2021, at Nerima Culture Center.
On November 15, she graduated from ANGERME and Hello! Project after the ANGERME Concert 2021 "Tougenkyou ~Kasahara Momona Sotsugyou Special~" at Nippon Budokan. In the same day, she released a solo cover of the song "Chikyuu wa Kyou mo Ai wo Hagukumu" digitally, and her second photobook Dear sister, with the actresses and models Aoi Yuu and Kikuchi Akiko serving as the editors-in-chief.[13] After her graduation, she also left UP-FRONT PROMOTION.
2023[]
In September, Kasahara was announced as a participant in the third season of PRODUCE 101 JAPAN, a survival reality audition show.[14] She also participated in the series' theme song, LEAP HIGH ~Asu e, Meippai~ (LEAP HIGH〜明日へ、めいっぱい〜!, LEAP HIGH ~Toward Tomorrow, To the Fullest~).[15] On December 16, it was announced that she had secured the #1 rank, and will subsequently debut as the center in the group ME:I.[16]

As of 2020, both her parents are 36 years old, and her two younger sisters are 15 and 12 years olds.
She is also related to Takahashi Eito, a famous Japanese singer-songwriter. He is married to her aunt. He appeared alongside her other family members during a surprise family support VTR during the finale of PRODUCE 101 JAPAN season 3. Kasahara later confirmed the exact nature of the relation during a TV interview.[18][19]When Kasahara joined ANGERME, she was a first year middle school student. She graduated from middle school in March 2019[20] and began high school the following April.[21]
Following her graduation, she attended KPOP ART SCHOOL, a Japan-based music school focusing on K-Pop. Kasahara attended the school's study abroad program prior to her feature on PRODUCE 101 JAPAN. [22]The following list are nicknames that have been used to refer to Kasahara Momona:
