Ishiguri Kanami (石栗奏美) is a Japanese pop singer under Hello! Project as a member of OCHA NORMA and a former member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido.

Prior to joining Hello! Project, she was a member of the idol group Team Crerekko! Jr. and its sub-unit PURE@DOLL.[1]

Early Life[]

Ishiguri Kanami was born on April 20, 2004 in Hokkaido, Japan.

2013-2014[]

Ishiguri was a member of Team Crerekko! Jr. and the sub-unit PURE@DOLL from 2013 until she graduated on January 22, 2014.[1][2]

2015[]

She participated in the Hello! Project "Hokkaido Gentei" Member Audition.

2016[]

On July 16, it was announced that the successful applicants of the Hello! Project "Hokkaido Gentei" Member Audition would join the newly established trainee branch, Hello Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido.[3] Ishiguri was officially introduced as one of the first seven members on July 30 at the Hello! Project 2016 SUMMER ~Sunshine Parade~ concert in Sapporo alongside Oota Haruka, Sato Hikari, Kawano Minori, Kudo Yume, Kitagawa Ryo, and Yamazaki Mei.[4]

2018[]

On May 6, she won a guest judge's award at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2018 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ event for her performance of "Watashi no Nanni mo Wakacchanai".

2019[]

Ishiguri participated in Morning Musume '19 LOVE Audition, but failed.

On May 4, Ishiguri won the Judge's singing award at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2019 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ event for her performance of "Kimagure Princess".[5]

On July 11, she was one of the first five Hello Pro Kenshuusei and Hello Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido members assigned to the rotational Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit, who would perform in the Hello! Project 2019 SUMMER concert tour starting on July 13.[6][7]

2020[]

On July 26, Ishiguri won the best performance award with a total of 1013 fan votes for her performance of "Resonant Blue" at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2020 ~Natsu no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~.[8]

2021[]

On March 7, it was announced at the end of the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2021 3gatsu ~Yell~ recital that Ishiguri would be joining a new Hello! Project group, with their formation being aimed by the end of the year.[9]

On December 12, Ishiguri was announced as a founding member of Hello! Project's new group OCHA NORMA.[10] In the following day, on December 13, she was promoted from Hello Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido.

2022[]

On February 9, it was announced that Ishiguri Kanami and Hello Pro Kenshuusei were absent from the February 11 Hello! Project 2022 Winter ~LOVE & PEACE~ shows due to Ishiguri and half of the Kenshuusei members being classified as a close contact to someone who was diagnosed positive with COVID-19.[11] She was also absent from the February 12 and 13 events of OCHA NORMA FC Event 2022 ~OCHA NORMA no Ma~.[12]

On April 24, she celebrated her 18th birthday at a fanclub event titled OCHA NORMA Ishiguri Kanami・Yonemura Kirara・Nishizaki Miku FC Event 2022, featuring three shows at Shinjuku ReNY in Tokyo.

On June 3, it was reported that Ishiguri was diagnosed with COVID-19. In the midnight of June 2, Ishiguri had symptoms of fever, sore throat, and headache, so she did an antigen test at her home and a positive reaction for COVID-19 was confirmed. After consulting with the medical institution, she was instructed to take medical treatment and wait at her home until June 12 due to the positive results in multiple antigen tests and her symptom of fever. Based on the results and activities before June 2, the staff have also determined that the remaining OCHA NORMA members were close contacts of Ishiguri, so they would be also self-isolate at home for the time being. Other than Ishiguri, no symptoms of fever or other symptoms were confirmed for the OCHA NORMA members. As result to the diagnosis, the release commemorative mini-live event of OCHA NORMA's major debut single that was scheduled to be held on June 4 at Airport Walk Nagoya was cancelled.[13]

On September 30, it has been reported that Ishiguri was diagnosed with functional gastrointestinal disease. As a result, she will be absent from the following performances and broadcasts until she recuperates.[14]

On October 7, it was announced that Ishiguri has been suspended from activities due to functional gastrointestinal disease.[15]

2023[]

On April 20, Ishiguri celebrated her 19th birthday at a fanclub event titled OCHA NORMA Ishiguri Kanami Birthday Event 2023, featuring two shows at LANDMARK HALL in Kanagawa. She will also release her first photobook, sonare.[16]

2024[]

On January 24, Ishiguri revealed that she had suffered a relapse of Kikuchi Disease, a condition she had previously suffered in Junior High. This condition caused her swollen and painful lymph nodes, slight fever, lethargy, headache and nausea. As a result, she would be limiting her performances while her symptoms improved.[17]

Personal Life[]

She has a pet dog named RuRu (ルル).

In March 2023, Ishiguri graduated from high school.[18] As of April 2023, she is currently in her first year of university.[19]
