Higuchi Aika was born in Tokyo, Japan.

On February 5, it was announced through Hello! Project Station that Higuchi had joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei alongside Nagano Momoha, Sakamoto Aoi, Suzuki Moa, Ishikawa Hanano, Nemoto Karin, Miyazaki Riho, Ohno Airi, and Someya Sara.

When Higuchi joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei, she was in her fourth year of elementary school.
The "Ai" in her name was given in honor of Takahashi Ai.
