Hello! Project Shin Member Audition 2021 (ハロー！プロジェクト新メンバーオーディション2021) is the audition for members to join the cast of Hello! Project. It was announced on July 5, 2021 and its main target is to find new members for ANGERME, the new Hello! Project Unit, Hello Pro Kenshuusei and Hello Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido.
The audition is searching for girls who love Hello! Project, love to sing and dance, are confident in singing and dancing, want to take advantage of their personal strengths and special skills, and want to find their "new self".
The first winners were announced on December 12, 2021 at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2021 12gatsu ~RING~. The second winner was announced on December 30, 2021 at the ANGERME Premium concert of the Hello! Project Year-End Party 2021 ~GOOD BYE & HELLO!~.
Audition Details[]
- Application Requirements:
- Female, living in Japan, enrolled in the fifth year of elementary school up to the third year of high school as of July 2021.
- Must not currently be under contract with any agencies.
- Must have consent from legal guardian if under the age of 15.
- Only those who are able to attend lessons in Tokyo were eligible to pass the audition.

Audition Process[]
First Round[]
The application deadline was on August 19, 2021. Only successful applicants will be notified of the results of the first screening by mid-September.
Screening of the primary documents was completed on September 3, 2021, and it was announced that successful applicants would be sent information on the second round screening through an e-mail.[1]
Second Round[]
On September 14, it was announced on the audition's twitter account that the second round was finished and only continuing candidates would be contacted by mail.[2]
Fourth Round[]
On November 21, it was announced on the audition's twitter account that the fourth round has been completed and the results will be mailed out one by one. Those who passed will be sent an invitation for the next round.[3]
Final Round[]
The finalists had to sing a song from ANGERME's 29th single "Hakkiri Shiyou ze / Oyogenai Mermaid / Aisare Route A or B?" in solo. They also had to dance a "Hello! Project Dance Club" style choreography.

On December 12, 2021, two winners of the audition were announced at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2021 12gatsu ~RING~ recital in Zepp Tokyo, and introduced to the public in the afternoon recital. The two winners would be joining Hello! Project's new group OCHA NORMA:[4]

The winner who would be joining ANGERME was announced on December 30, 2021, at the ANGERME Premium concert of the Hello! Project Year-End Party 2021 ~GOOD BYE & HELLO!~.[5] There, Takeuchi Akari revealed that the winner who would join ANGERME would be a trainee promoted from Hello Pro Kenshuusei:
- Hirayama Yuki (平山遊季), 15
Trivia[]
- Hello Pro Kenshuusei trainees were screened for their aptitude through daily training activities.
- Tashiro Sumire's audition number was 150 and Tsutsui Roko's was 177.
- This is the second audition to take place in 2021.
- Goto Hana and Maeshima Karin participated in this audition, and later joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei as the 33rd generation.[6]
- Goto Hana joined ANGERME as the 11th generation member in May 2023.
- Maeshima Karin ended her training in May 2022.
