SAYUMINGLANDOLL ~Saisei~ (SAYUMINGLANDOLL～再生～; SAYUMINGLANDOLL ~Rebirth~) was Michishige Sayumi's first solo performance series and her comeback after a two year and four month hiatus. It ran from March 19 to July 8, 2017 at COTTON CLUB in Tokyo and STUDIO PARTITA in Osaka.
The story of the performance was inspired by the sci-fi shoujo manga From Europa by Arita Nao, which won a Gold Tiara Award from Shueisha in 2008.[1] The original story is about Toto and Ganashi, who are the survivors of the last ice-covered star, and Toto, who longs for love, believes she can find the boy of her destiny on another star.[2] In SAYUMINGLANDOLL ~Saisei~, Michishige portrays Toto, who is an apprentice in an ice star circus group named "Sayuminglandoll".[1]
The Blu-ray of the final July 8 performance was released on December 20, 2017.[3] It comes as a digipak and includes bonus footage and audio commentary by Michishige and her co-stars.[4]

It has been about 2 years and 4 months since her graduation from Morning Musume. Michishige Sayumi will be "reborn".
The stage is set at Marunouchi COTTON CLUB.
During this, COTTON CLUB will be transformed into a theater. The performance is neither a concert, musical, nor dinner show; instead, it is a new world in which light and sound are woven together with images. Each show is about 80 minutes long with the themes "rebirth" and "hope".
With your own eyes, please come and see this new "first step".

Soundtrack[]
The original soundtrack of the performance, also the first solo album by Michishige Sayumi, comes in a digipak with a 24-page booklet. It was pre-released at the COTTON CLUB venue and through e-LineUP! Mall on April 10, 2017[5] and was released for general sale on July 5, 2017.
The soundtrack was also digitally released on April 10, 2017 with "Saisei ~Watashi wa Koko ni Iru wa~" and "Chotto Aenai Kurai de" as the only available tracks as part of Upcoming's Music Delivery corner.[6]

- The character Ganashi was originally female in From Europa,[2] but was adapted into a male ringleader for the performance.
