My biggest complaint would probably just be consistency across similar pages. The discography pages for Berryz Koubou, for instance, looks very different from the one for ANGERME.
A more minor one would be that a lot of pages for older content don't seem to be maintained to the updated standards of the wiki. Can't really think of any off the top of my head, but it's only every now and again that I really get peeved.
Edit: I realize for this one that I could easily be the one going and fixing them, but it's a time consuming project and I really don't have any time as it is.
^I'm probably one of the biggest offender of your second complaint. I'm not interested in older groups or C-ute, so I rarely make updates in those pages. It also doesn't help that there isn't much info about them.
This recent wake-up call makes me interested in mass editing again instead of wasting my time watching dramas/telenovelas. I'll probably get started with those pages after the Republican Debate is over.
Edit: As for group releases, it think we should based it on the ANGERME diacography page, which is more similar to the MM discography.
Regarding Category:Members involved in Scandals
When is something considered a "scandal" and when not?
I just wondered about this, because we aren't adding Renako nor Taguchi to the list, because they didn't talk about it, right? But, sometimes things are so obvious and widespread, does it really need Up-Fronts seal of approval? Is it because we need a source of some kind? Why would Taguchis' case not be considered a scandal when in the Japanese social media people are freaking out about it and there is even a kiss picture (new 3rd pic) isn't this some kind of source? Why is Reina in this category? I just know of a blog post of Reina and Sayu (and Eri I think?) in which they were bashing Koreans and made fun of their eyes and later apologized in another post - would something like that count with a valid source? How about newspaper articles?
I think there should be clearer rules regarding this category, so that everybody knows when it's ok to add something and when it is not. I really think not everybody here can tell what is counted as a scandal here and what not, so the admins should maybe sum it up for everybody or decide by themselves when somebody found a new potential source? It's totally unclear.
I have no clue what the requirements are for the Category:Members involved in Scandals, but who is or isn't added and for what reason is inconsistent. As you've mentioned, Reina is there, but it's odd that Sayumi and Eri aren't in the category when all three of them were involved and apologised for their controversial photos. I'm also not sure what Matsuura Aya's or Suenaga Mami's scandals were and their pages don't mention anything either. I can see why everyone else I haven't named yet are there.
Sources have been discussed in the past in the Citing Websites post made by Maopyon. Fan blogs, fan boards, 2ch, and presumably fan tweets, etc. aren't considered reliable sources on the wiki. Imo, they are still very useful for getting setlist info, especially when more than one source confirms it, and sharing fanclub news (i.e. upcoming concert tours, musicals) which non-fanclub members can't access. That kind of info is harmless compared to private/dating photos, which members obviously had no say in being released to the public via 2ch or Twitter.
Statements made directly from UP-FRONT or members' blogs are considered Type A sources, which is why I argue against adding news about scandals unless management or the members involved comment on it, otherwise the wiki becomes a gossip site that pries too much into members' private lives and it shouldn't.
I would say that Kago Ai's or Fujimoto Miki's scandals for example are fair to add to wiki because official statements were made. Scandals involving popular Morning Musume members also get blown up in the media and covered by Type B news sources... which makes me wonder if tabloids such as FRIDAY or Shukan Bunshun also count as Type B? When either of them have revealed something, UF or the members have been pretty much forced to comment.
On the other hand, Murakami Megumi and Arihara Kanna never addressed their tabloid photos and cited other reasons for leaving (school/to be a normal girl/bunions), even though fans 100% believe it was because of their scandals. Articles about their photos are harder to find and the stuff on their pages shouldn't be there without any reliable sources to back it up.
I've never dealt much with that category, but definitely if a page can't be bothered to explain why a member is included than they shouldn't be.
I'm a bit split on your last paragraph, Ookiihitomi. I get that we don't want to be too gossipy or invasive, but an Arihara article that only mentions the bunions wouldn't seem complete either.
I understand that it would feel like the whole story isn't being told, but if her page says "... other sources have claimed that the bunion was not the only reason why Arihara left Hello! Project..." and those sources have not been cited, it could sound like we're making stuff up which some fans on other forums already think we do. Of course, missing citations is a whole problem itself for pages on past groups and members, and searching for references can be time consuming, especially the older the topics are.
This is about Singles/Albums pages:
Can we start adding a "FC Event" section on these pages, where it lists where a song's been performed at a FC Event; Bus Tours, Birthdays, etc. We currently have TV Performances and Concert Performances, and it's increasingly empty the more I've noticed a song being performed in things like Birthday Events.
Fans would be able to more easily find information they're looking for (be it debate, trivia, mixing, dubbing), and it's truly a pain using the search feature to try and simplify the hassle of checking each page individually -after- having to skim through pages completely irrelevant to the search.
I don't mind helping to listing stuff yet listed, whenever I have time and energy, but I'm not about to start without approval or others' agreement that it'd be a good addition (since it's more than adding/editing something outdated).
Ismocha: That sounds cool, a clear extension of what's already there.
KouChisato: I'm not sure what you're getting at.
