'''Heike''': "It's a mentally stimulating song. It's about a single girl living on her own, feeling a little lonely. As for me, I've been living in Tokyo on my own for 3 years, so I'm used to it. But 3 years ago, I was definitely feeling this way sometimes so I really understand the main character’s feeling. It’s like I'm singing about my past, when I was younger. Interviews
Heike said in an interview a few weeks before the release date:
Heike: "As for my latest single, "Ai no Chikara", I couldn't believe it was produced for me because it was such a different genre from what I was used to. I like listening to this type of music on a daily basis, but I never imagined I would be singing something like this."
Interviewer: "R&B has been a popular genre nowadays and many have been landing on the top of music chart. This song has got some R&B flavor ("Tokai no Yoru" has a stronger R&B flavor in comparison). It's got the rhythm of hip-hop and definitely a new sound for Michiyo Heike. But this is, in exchange, a whole new challenge for her and it must be a rewarding experience. The rhythm is quite unique, but after I listened to the whole song, I could clearly tell that it was made especially for her, for it required a solid vocal skill to pull it off."
Heike: "I was told by Tsunku, my producer, that this song was supposed to emphasize my vocal skills. So rather than paying too much attention to the rhythm, I was asked to improve my vocal technique. So that's my new strategy and my new goal."[1]
Heike said in an interview on the release date of the single:
"For those who are reading CD data, hello! I'm releasing my 8th single "Ai No Chikara". Same as last time, Tsunku was the producer for this single. When I listened to it for the first time, I was quite surprised because it was an entirely different genre from what I was used to [note: she used to have the rock musician Hatake as a producer before Tsunku. I was nervous because I wasn't sure if I could pull it off. But I gave it a try with my usual "determined willpower". Both my last single, “One Room Natsu no Koi Monogatari” and this single, you can discover my entirely different aspect in a refreshing way. Hope you enjoy!"[2]
Heike said in an interview:
Interviewer: "Now, about the coupling song "Tokai No Yoru", the lyrics are about a daily life of a woman, which is a typical theme for her songs lately."
Heike: "It's a mentally stimulating song. Lol."[3]
